navigate to this file: C:\Users\matt\Documents\My Games\Hellgate\Settings\settings.xml (matt would obviously be whatever your vista log-in is)
right click - edit
look for 2 lines that look like this: <MSAA>16xQ MSAA</MSAA>
the first one is a default setting, the 2nd is your in game setting. make sure both are low, and both are the same.
your setting might look different inside the MSAA bits. change both to either 2x MSAA (lowest AA setting) or OFF. so they'd both look like this:
<MSAA>2x MSAA</MSAA>
or
<MSAA>OFF</MSAA>
save the settings.xml file and exit, load your game and see if it's much much smoother
alternatively go in to the nvidia control panel / ati and disable AA altogether, both should work - but I know my method does (at least for me)
